Raven Report 1.8 Family Edition - October 17
Dear St. Kateri Raven Families:
Next week, we are excited to celebrate Education Week with the inspiring theme:
“Seeds of Learning, Roots to Success / Semer l’apprentissage, enraciner la réussite.”
This theme reminds us that every moment of learning helps our students grow strong roots for a successful future. It’s a time to reflect on the importance of education and the many ways our students grow—academically, socially, and spiritually.
Throughout the month, we have been focusing on the Character Strong virtue and Sacred Teaching of Respect. Students have been learning what it means to show respect for themselves, others, and the world around them. This focus supports the development of a caring, inclusive, and respectful school community.
A Prayer for Respect
Loving God,
Help us to see the goodness in every person.
Teach us to speak with kindness, listen with patience, and act with compassion.
May our hearts be rooted in respect, so that we may grow together in peace and understanding.
Amen.
Weekly News
· School Pictures – Edge Imaging will be at the school on Oct. 21- Kindergarten Group B only and on Oct. 22 – Kindergarten Group A and all students from Grade 1-8.
- Lunch Fees and Payment
RCSD charges a mandatory supervision fee for each student that stays at school during the lunch hour. You will receive a notification next week from School Cash Online that a new item has been added for payment. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
- Edsby and Seesaw – Our staff will all be using two platforms for communication this school year. Edsby is the platform where you will be able to see updates on your child’s assessment throughout the school year. This is also where you will view your child’s progress reports in January and June. Our school calendar and office newsletters can also be found on Edsby. Edsby is also used for communication and your child’s learning portfolio for Gr. 4-8 students.
Kindergarten-Gr.3 will be using Seesaw for communication and your child’s learning portfolio. Your child’s classroom teacher will be sending home a unique code for each student to connect to Seesaw. Seesaw is a convenient app that you can access easily from a cell phone. You can communicate with your child’s teacher through the app as well if needed. Please get connected with these two important apps as soon as possible to ensure that you can get all the information you need to be engaged with your child’s education this school year. If you are having any difficulty getting connected to Edsby or Seesaw, please call the office at 306-791-1785.
· Criminal Record Checks
- As we begin Extra-curricular teams, we sometimes need volunteer drivers to support transportation.
- Any parent that will transport other students needs to have both a Criminal Record Check and Transportation form completed. These need to be in the office and signed by the principal.
- If you would like to get a criminal record check, please contact the office to get the letter and form to take to the police station. This will ensure you are not charged for the record check. Please do not complete an online criminal record check as we will not be able to reimburse you.
- Driver Authorization forms also need to be collected from the office if you are transporting students other than your own children.
