Dear St. Kateri Raven Families: 

As we approach the Thanksgiving weekend, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for each of you. Our school community is truly special because of the care, support, and partnership we share with our families. Thank you for all you do to help make St. Kateri a place where students feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow. 

May this Thanksgiving bring moments of rest, joy, and connection with loved ones. Whether you're gathering around a table or enjoying quiet time at home, I hope your weekend is filled with family, friends, and gratitude. 

Please note that there will be no school on Monday, October 13th as we observe the Thanksgiving holiday. Classes will resume on Tuesday.

Weekly News 

• City Champions Aerial Girls Football - Congratulations to our Girls Football team who won the City Final game against the St. Elizabeth Cardinals. Thank you to the coaches – Monsieur Zumstein, Mr. Mo, and Ms. Donnelly for volunteering their time to coach this sport.  This is the first team City Championship for our school, and we are excited to hang the championship banner in your school gym.  We would also like to recognize the fantastic season that our Boys Football team had this year.  They lost out in the semi-final game and had an amazing season this year. Thank you to the coaches – Mr. Larson and Mr. Hilsendager for their time spent coaching this team. 

• School Pictures – Edge Imaging will be at the school on Oct. 21- Kindergarten Group B only and on Oct. 22 – Kindergarten Group A and all students from Grade 1-8.  

• Terry Fox Donations – Thank you to everyone who was able to send donations for the Terry Fox Foundation. Our school was able to raise $524.65 for cancer research. Way to go Ravens! 

• Edsby and Seesaw – Our staff will all be using two platforms for communication this school year. Edsby is the platform where you will be able to see updates on your child’s assessment throughout the school year. This is also where you will view your child’s progress reports in January and June. Our school calendar and office newsletters can also be found on Edsby. Edsby is also used for communication and your child’s learning portfolio for Gr. 4-8 students. 

Kindergarten-Gr.3 will be using Seesaw for communication and your child’s learning portfolio. Your child’s classroom teacher will be sending home a unique code for each student to connect to Seesaw. Seesaw is a convenient app that you can access easily from a cell phone. You can communicate with your child’s teacher through the app as well if needed. Please get connected with these two important apps as soon as possible to ensure that you can get all the information you need to be engaged with your child’s education this school year. If you are having any difficulty getting connected to Edsby or Seesaw, please call the office at 306-791-1785. 

• Criminal Record Checks 

• As we begin Extra-curricular teams, we sometimes need volunteer drivers to support transportation.   

• Any parent that will transport other students needs to have both a Criminal Record Check and Transportation form completed.  These need to be in the office and signed by the principal.   

• If you would like to get a criminal record check, please contact the office to get the letter and form to take to the police station.  This will ensure you are not charged for the record check.  Please do not complete an online criminal record check as we will not be able to reimburse you. 

• Driver Authorization forms also need to be collected from the office if you are transporting students other than your own children.

• St. Kateri Catholic School Community Council News  

Our next CSCC meeting is on Nov. 4 at 6:00 PM. PLEASE consider joining our Catholic School Community Council. We are always looking for new members and welcome all parents to be general members. The more voices we have to support our school. Contact the office if you wish to have more details and we can direct you to a CSCC member! 

We have a couple of exciting events coming up soon.  The CSCC will be having a hotdog day on Oct. 30.  We will send out order forms soon.  There will also be a Dance-a-thon fundraiser on Nov. 20.  More information will be provided soon.
